The Israel Franchise Promotion Center

 

The Israel Franchise Promotion Center (IFPC) is the only public institution in Israel that promotes franchising nationwide and offers assistance to potential and current franchisees and franchisors. The IFPC aims at development and advancement of franchising in Israel, following recent trends prevailing in most Western countries, thereby creating thousands of new jobs.

 

The IFPC provides an extensive range of services, including announcement of current business opportunities, help with economic assessment and negotiations, capital raising assistance and more. The IFPC, a not-for-profit organization (NPO), was set up jointly by the Israel Small and Medium Enterprises Authority and MATI – the Jerusalem Business Development Center.

 

Functions

1.    Encouraging the business community in Israel to intensify use of franchising as a rapid and efficient means of business expansion and a preferred option for fledgling entrepreneurs interested in opening their own business while relying on the brand name and commercial experience of the parent chain.

2.    Promoting development of the requisite infrastructures, including special sources of financing for franchised businesses and formulating the necessary rules and regulations.

3.    Linking entrepreneurs interested in obtaining franchises with franchising chains seeking expansion. The IFPC maintains a detailed database on franchisors operating in Israel and the terms they offer.

4.    Consultation with experienced experts:

            Assessing applicants’ suitability for franchised business operation, brand name uniqueness and likelihood of success.

            Selecting the preferred type of franchise for each applicant.

            Planning a detailed system of work procedures and regulations for franchising chain operation, including the drafting of a franchising agreement and regulation portfolio.

            Screening entrepreneurs who review the franchisor database and appealing to those interested in and capable of operating franchised businesses.

5.    Assistance for franchisors:

            Improving system operation

            Assessing and refreshing work regulations

            Operating incentive programs for franchisees, including guidance

            Locating potential entrepreneurs interested in and capable of serving as franchisees

6.    Conducting guidance courses, workshops and seminars that provide franchisors, franchisees and the public at large with professional business knowhow.
